Dear Parents,

On Friday, my dad had a heart cath. That afternoon, we were told that all arteries leading into the heart are blocked. One at 99%, one at 94%, one at 87%, and one at 85%. We were told that they were admitting dad to the ICU, and were scheduling him for quadruple bypass. He will have the surgery Monday morning at 7:30.
The doctor made it clear that dad is lucky to still be here with us. We are very lucky he did not have a massive heart attack. As we look back through all of this, we can see how God's hand has been in each step. We were assigned a very meticulous doctor, Dr. Loyo, to perform the heart cath; we had nurses we knew who cared for dad yesterday; and, Dr. Jaggers will be performing the bypass. His daughter is a 6th grader at IC and is very good friends with my daughter.
We are confident that dad still has more to do here on earth, or God would have taken him home all ready!
I am posting to ask you to pray for my dad, my mom, the doctors, and the nurses. I will not be at school on Monday and if all goes well, I will be back Tuesday. I am so thankful to be a part of a school community who believes in the power of prayer. Thank you all in advance.
***I want to extend a huge thank you to Dr. Holly Jennings. She is my dad's pcp, and was in contact with us all during this ordeal. She saw something that ended up saving my dad's life. Words can never express our gratitude to her.
