Becker Bunch News for 1/9

Spelling- I am so impressed with all of the kid’s growth on the spelling assessment!! I am really proud of them! We are beginning a unit on long vowel-consonant-e words.
Mrs. Becker’s group: bake, chase, frame, safe, made, wake
Mrs. Hamm’s group: drop, drag, drip, drum, drug
Sight word: came
Reading- We are working on listening to ourselves as we read; and, correcting ourselves if something doesn’t sound right or look right. I will be pushing the kids hard this 9 weeks in reading to work to continue to extend their reading abilities.
Writing- This week, we will learn how to plan revision. (adding to our stories or pictures, x-ing out what doesn’t make sense, taking out parts that do not stay on our topic, or adding dialogue)
Math- We will be starting place value to 100 this week.
Religion- We will have a test on Monday, January 23, over Chapter 10. Religion books will come home Friday. Please read over Chapter 10 (pgs 120-129) with your child.
