Reading- Story of the week:A Vet
We are working on what to do when we come to a word we don’t know. I am prompting the kids to check the picture, make the first sound and think about the story, and then search through the word and slowly make the sounds. This helps them learn how to help themselves during reading.

Writing- Author Study this week: We will be reading from the Old Testament in the Bible this week.
We will work on being able to identify action words (verbs), and using them in our writing.

Math- WE will have a test over Chapter 7 on Wednesday,December 1.

Religion- We are learning about the season of Advent this week.

Social Studies- We will finish our unit on Cultures this week.

Things of Note:
No homework over the Thanksgiving holiday. Enjoy!

As we enter this Advent season, I hope that you will all set aside time as a family to use the Advent calendar that will be sent home. My family loves to take turns opening a box and reading the scripture and praying together. It is a wonderful family tradition.
