We are working on the short o sound, and reviewing beginning blends.

Reading
Story of the week:What Bug Is It?
When your child reads a book to you or you read a book to them, have them tell you the order of the story starting with the beginning, then the middle, and then the end. Try to encourage them to tell you details about the book too.

Writing
Author Study: We will be reading about Saints this week.
We will review these things this week:
1. A story has a beginning, middle, and end.
2. Finishing stories with good endings.
3. Tell about things in the order that they happened.

Math
Ch 5 Math test over addition strategies on Tuesday, November 3.
On Wednesday, we will begin working on addition fact practice. Please practice addition flashcards at home- it is very important for the children to know their addition facts quickly.

Religion
We will learn about different Saints this week. If your child participated in the Saint’s Day Program in Kindergarten, could you remind your child who their Saint was?

Social Studies We will begin a unit about “Our Changing World”. We will learn how schools, technology, jobs, etc have changed.

Things of Note:
For older children and adults: LifeTeen is sponsoring “The Forest of Terror” at Columbus Acres. The cost is $5.00 per person and includes a guided tour through a haunted forest. The event will be held at Columbus Acres. It is open 30, and 31st from 7:30-midnight. All proceeds go directly to support River Valley LifeTeen.
It promises to be a great scare!
(Wear old shoes or boots- it IS muddy!
