Reading We will be working on story elements this 9 weeks: characters, setting, problem, solution, etc
We will be creating summaries of books we are reading.
Writing We will be working on book responses using pictures and words this week.
Math We will begin a unit on measurement. We will be learning about Length this week.
Religion We are learning about how and why we celebrate Mass.
Things of Note:
Don’t forget to bring in your silent auction item! Our theme is “Go Hogs”!

Send in 3 canned goods, and a box of cereal, macaroni and cheese, crackers, or paper towels to donate for the country store at the Spring Festival!

Midterms will be available on edline on Tuesday, April 21, 2009.

Wednesday, April 22, 2009: First grade is taking a trip to Wild Things Farm. We will leave school at 8:30 and return around 11:00.

The Bishop will be with us on Friday, April 24 to celebrate our 10:00 mass.
Reading Review due on Friday

Grandparents Day is Monday, April 20, 2009. Please remember to RSVP for this event.
Our class will present our American Heritage Program on Monday, April 20, at 1:30 pm. Please practice with your child AND remember to send a costume to school on Monday. It would be helpful if any moms (or dads) could be in our classroom around 1:00 to help us get dressed for the program.
