Well...this blog is getting ready to go private. I will be sending home info in today's folder with more details. I really felt that for the privacy of your children, only invited readers should be able to view our class blog. It may take me this week to completely switch it to private; but, I think it is well worth it. We can't ever take our children's safety and privacy for granted in this day and age. Thanks for your help!
Here is the information that is coming home in folders today:
In today’s folder are the Book Parade sheet, and a sheet that shows you how the poster board will be graded. Please notice that the poster is graded by points (which are across the top), and more points are given for work that is done by the student. As a mom, I understand wanting to make your child’s poster look great; but, this also needs to be your child’s project! Thank you for your help! I have made a copy of the Book Parade sheet so we can practice at school, but I also need your help in practicing at home with your child. You may glue this sheet on the back of your child’s poster. I am going to have the copy of their sheet with me on Book Parade day to help them if they get stuck.
Here are a few reminders regarding the Book Parade:
• Use a half-size poster board (14 X 22) and attach a string at the top to go around their neck.
• It should hang vertically down the front of your child’s body.
• Help your child decorate it with a simple picture about the book.
• The poster board must include the following information:
Title of the book
The author’s name
The illustrator’s name
A picture
ONE sentence telling the main idea of the story.
Your child will dress in costume and bring the poster on Monday, November 24 by 7:45 a.m. Please be on time so we can have all the children ready! The costume may go over the school uniform, or they may change after the program. The program will begin at 8:00 a.m. in the auditorium.
**Just a reminder:
- Picture retakes are Wednesday, November 19. Please return your proof sheet if you haven’t all ready. You don’t have to order pictures, but we do need you to select a pose for the yearbook.
- Have you sent in your bottle of syrup for the Thanksgiving basket project yet? Please send it by this Friday!
